The Database and Information System group, founded by Prof. Valeria De Antonellis, is known for its original results in the fields of conceptual modeling, analysis and design (see, People Behind Informatics: The history of Conceptual Modeling) and more recently for novel contributions in semantic interoperability, service discovery techniques, web application design, big data management.
